Rahim Moore only wants to make plays

UCLA true freshman safety Rahim Moore is coming off, maybe his best game as a Bruin last time out against Cal. He made a lot of tackles and broke up a play in the end zone that saved the Bruins a touchdown. He is playing better and better every week. Moore spoke with after practice on Wednesday. Rahim you played an outstanding game, probably your best against Cal. Tell us how that game went for you and you feel you are progressing?

Moore: "Pretty much out there. I kind of felt like I was at home seeing a lot of my fellas that I played throughout my years of football. I just told myself that it was time for me to stop thinking of myself as a little kid and act like a veteran and go out there and want to make plays. Just go out there and execute so pretty much last week I was more relaxed than I have ever been and I just went out there and let all on the field.

"I told myself that I needed to make more plays and do whatever it takes to contribute to win the game so I just went out there and did my best and whatever plays came to me I just tried to make it.

"I just went out and played hard." Talk about that play you made in the end zone when you batted away a touchdown?

Moore: "They came out in a I slot and me and Vern (Alterraun Verner) made a call where I play man up on a guy and I saw how he was looking towards the inside and I peeped it out and took a little glance at the quarterback and I could tell that the two connected to each other, so Vern and I made our call and I was a little inside shade and I flatfoot read it and as soon as I seen him break, I broke on it and as soon as he caught it, I put my hands in there and ripped it out.

"I knew they were going to come at me because I'm a freshman so they felt it was easy points so I just went out there told them it is going to take a lot to come out here and try that. I knew it was coming and I'm glad I made that play because it was critical."
