Following the Future: Trojan Targets

Beating the Cal Bears 17-3, defense continued to be the theme for USC this weekend.

On the recruiting trail, that theme was also emphasized with the play Trojans defensive targets Manti Te'o of Laie (Hawaii) and Corey Adams of Chandler (Ariz.) and Frankie Telfort of Miami (Fla.)

With each prospect leading his team into a state playoff race, the significance of each game increases just as the intensity of the recruiting process kicks into high gear.

Manti Te'o - 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker

Punahou 21, Kamehameha 14: Manti Teo recorded 13 tackles in the Buffanblu victory. Te'o is considering UCLA, BYU, Stanford and Notre Dame in addition to USC.

Corey Adams - 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle

Saguaro 33, Cactus 7: Big man Corey Adams recorded three sacks in the win as Saguaro clinched the top seed for the state playoffs. Adams will visit USC Dec. 12.

Rolando Jefferson - 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver

Fresno Edison 14, Bullard 17: Rolando Jefferson was shut down in the Tigers' loss, recording just four catches for 38 yards. He did, however, have four tackles and an interception on defense.
