White’s championship habits impress coaches
Mickey Andrews sounded more like a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences than the Seminoles defensive coordinator when asked recently about rising junior defensive end Markus White.
"We give an award each week," Andrews explained. "The coaches, when we study the film, will pick out the guys that had really good licks; good hits. We'll take a video and list them on the board - it might be five guys - and we'll put it on tape and show it to [the players] and let them vote.
"In addition to that, anytime we'll see some plays that are just unbelievable effort, we'll add that in there too. It's recognition to them, but it lets the other guys see a teammate playing at a level effort-wise that you want all the players to see. Almost every week [White] is on the video."
