Spring position preview: Cornerbacks

Warchant.com is getting its subscribers ready for the start of Florida State's 2009 Spring Practice with updates and previews on each position. The Seminole football team will take to the practice fields for the first time on Monday, March 16th.

The position coach: Mickey Andrews, entering 26th year at Florida State.



Frontrunner: Patrick Robinson


Class for 2009 season: Senior / Size: 5-11, 195 pounds.

2008 season: Started nine games last season at boundary corner. Missed the first games three because of a suspension. Finished with 26 tackles (2 for loss), 1 interception, 5 pass break-ups, and 1 forced fumble.




Top Contender: Ochuko Jenije


Class for 2009 season: RS-junior / Size: 5-10, 190 pounds.


2008 season: Played in all 13 games as the primary backup to Tony Carter at field cornerback. Also, played extensively on special teams. Finished 2008 with 11 tackles and 2 pass break-ups.
