Four-star ATH opens things up

Before this past weekend Louisville, Ga., four-star athlete Barry Bostic had never been to Mississippi State.

The 5-foot-10, 156-pound speedster got the full experience after a three day visit on Super Bulldog Weekend attending Friday's practice and Saturday's spring game.

"I enjoyed my visit," Bostic said. "I got to look around campus and see what Mississippi State has to offer. I think it's a lot of excitement with the team, the coaches like Coach (Dan) Mullen trying to bring what they had at Florida to Mississippi State. There is a lot of excitement with the fans and with the team. I think there is excitement building for everyone."

Bostic currently has eight offers from around the country and could have been any number of places this past weekend but wanted to get a look at Mullen's offense up close.

"I just wanted to see what Coach Mullen could do with the spread," Bostic said. "When I watched his spread I could definitely see myself fit in that mold and that style of play, that fast tempo offense. I can definitely see myself making big plays. I know when (Mullen) was down at Florida his offense was crazy so I had to go see what was up with the offense. He's doing a good job."

Bostic knew about the Bulldogs new $6.1 million video board from pictures he received on brochures and postcards sent to him by the coaching staff. But it was not until Saturday evening when it turned on for the first time that he began to appreciate the enormity of it.
