Recruitment picking up for Georgia ATH

One player that has seen his stock rise on the recruiting trail is Calhoun, Ga., speedster Niagel Curtis.

While the 5-foot-9, 178-pounder with 4.35 speed has yet to receive an offer, the amount of interest that has sparked over recent weeks indicates some maybe on the horizon real soon.

Curtis is picking up the attention of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Ole Miss, New Mexico, Vanderbilt, Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

"I'm hoping all this turns into an offer pretty soon," Curtis said. "I'm hoping one comes in but I just take it one day and one step at a time. I just have to keep working hard and maybe one will come in soon."

There is one school that Curtis is still waiting to hear from, one of his childhood favorites Mississippi State.

"I'm hoping Mississippi State will join the mix with everybody else," Curtis said. "I grew up liking Mississippi State and the way they do things around there. Even though they have had some tough years and a tough few seasons, I think things will pick back up. I've always liked them and I'm hoping they will start showing me some interest. I think I can be a player for them on the defensive side of the ball and maybe on special teams.
