Mitchell discusses Oregon offer

Recruiting has been picking up for Luther-Burbank cornerback Terrance Mitchell. After winning MVP honors at the Palo Alto NIKE Camp, that is certain to continue. That tipped the scale for the Oregon Ducks who offered the Sacramento-area star last week.

“Oregon offered me Tuesday,” Mitchell confirmed. “Coach Kelly called and offered. I have been talking to coach Neal also. I am very excited. I went up to the Oregon Camp as a freshman and I have always been interested in their program.” Adding this latest offer brings his total offers to four. “I have written offers from Oregon, Washington State, Utah, and Cal Poly. UNLV, Nevada, Sac State, Montana, and all the Pac-10 schools have been talking to me though.”

Mitchell had praise for the Oregon program. “I really like the school. It has everything, first class facilities, nice coaching, and nice uniforms. They have everything covered.” With respect to the depth chart, he stated the Ducks offer a good fit. “Oregon does need corners. I will have an opportunity to play because they are rebuilding, and in need of some players.”

Last year against Boise State, the Ducks lost their starting quarterback to injury in the first series of the game. Mitchell was on hand for that difficult loss. “I went to see the game last year against Boise State. Oregon had a tough time that day.”
