Clay a hot commodity
Scripps Ranch running back Brennan Clay is a hot commodity. Though the Class of 2010 is deep at his position, Clay is nonetheless emerging as one of the most highly sought recruits in the country. The Oregon Ducks are doing their best to stay in his top group.
"I have been in contact with Coach Kelly and Coach Neal. I have been staying close to the Duck program," Clay updated Duck Sports Authority. "It is one of the teams that will be with me to the end. I have scheduled an official visit."
Last time DSA spoke with Clay, he called Oregon one of his "dream schools". All the attention he has been receiving has tempered his thoughts.
"My feelings have changed some," admitted Clay. "There are of a lot of coaches coming out to talk and see me."
The schools interested in Rivals #2 rated all-purpose back are nationwide. "The teams that have given me a written offer are Michigan, Oklahoma, Washington, and Washington State," Clay reported. "A few SEC teams are giving me some love. I just got an offer from Georgia. I was real surprised they came all the way across the country to recruit me. USC has been recruiting me, but Coach Martin said that Coach Carol wants to see me under pressure. I may need to go to the Full Team 7 on 7 Camp for him to see me."
As of now, the four-star athlete has a tentative travel schedule. "I plan on going to at least four official visits. I plan on going to Michigan on September 17th. Before that I will be at Oregon then I'm hoping to go to Georgia and Oklahoma." Clay also has a couple camps planned. "I am going to Stanford's Camp June 25th. I also will be attending another camp on June 30th."
