Hattiesburg DT praises State camp

Having already visited camp at hometown school Southern Miss this summer, Hattiesburg, Miss., defensive tackle Vince Taylor ventured north to visit the other instate program that has offered.

Taylor, along with Oak Grove teammates Robert Johnson and Jay Hughes, came to a one-day camp at Mississippi State on Thursday to showcase his talents to the Bulldog staff.

"We stretched, we ran our forty and did a vertical jump," Taylor said. "Then we went and did one-on-ones with the offense and then we ate. Then they let us see the team workout. I really liked the working out. It was real intense."

The 6-foot-1, 270-pounder had encouraging things to say about MSU and the new staff after returning home from his visit.

"They've got a good coaching staff for one," Taylor said. "That's a big thing in what I am looking for in a college. I like that they run a 4-3 defense and the coaches get hands-on with you while you are practicing."

Taylor also got a chance to build a stronger bond with his position coach if he chose the Bulldogs in David Turner while at the camp.
