AU commit talks UA camp
Olive Branch (MS) lineman Shon Coleman committed to the Auburn Tigers back in April and has stayed relatively quite on the recruiting path since then. But last month, the three-star tackle visited Tuscaloosa for the University of Alabama's camp. Was the visit enough to change Coleman's mind?
"It was a great camp. I went with some friends and teammates and we went through a lot of great drills and really got a lot out of the experience. I talked a good bit with Coach (Joe) Pendry and he gave me a lot of good one-on-one advice about ways to improve my game."
"I also got a chance to talk to Coach (Nick) Saban and Coach (Bo) Davis. They didn't really talk about recruiting at all with me, just about how I can improve my game and how I can continue to push myself to be a better player."
Coleman, the 27th-rated offensive tackle prospect in the nation, said he remains committed to the Tigers but other schools may have a chance to pull the star away from Auburn when he takes his official visits this fall.
"I think it would take something really unique for me to change my commitment from Auburn. Alabama is a really good school with great coaches. I really can't say anything bad about Alabama at all. But for me to change my commitment I will need to see something on my visits this fall that really sticks out to me."
"I know I'm going to the LSU camp in two weeks and then maybe to Miami later this summer for their camp also. These aren't recruiting visits for me, just good camps that will hopefully help me develop some good techniques."
