Powell impressive at Pangos

MORE: Daniels goes off at Pangos

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Another strong field of prospects hit the court at this year's Pangos All American Camp. One of the more impressive of the bunch was San Diego combo guard Norman Powell.

Norman Powell - A 6-foot-2 combo guard, Powell has a great combination of athleticism and skill. He is a force attacking the basket, has a smooth stroke from outside and has an impressive feel for the game. Rarely does he force the issue, but within his poised style of play he is constantly prepared to attack. Powell's stock is on the rise, and his recruitment will only expand over the summer.

Rosco Allen - A 6-foot-8 2012 combo forward, Allen was one of the more impressive performers Friday night. He is always a threat from behind the arc but also can attack the basket going either direction and is a crafty finisher. Give Allen a couple more inches and there could be the emergence of a highly skilled, elite-level four man.

Jerome Seagears - A physical point guard in the 2011 class, Seagears has command of the game with the ball in his hands. Love his pace when attacking on the high-ball screen.

Charles Mitchell - This 6-foot-8 2012 post man isn't going to spend a lot of time playing above the rim, but he is going to score in one-on-one situations. He has advanced footwork on his post moves, knows how to use his big frame to his advantage and finishes with a soft touch. He also handled the ball well in the open court and showed some nice moves facing the basket in the midrange.

Naadir Tharpe - Tharpe, a former 2011 Providence commitment, was solid with the basketball at the point position and kept the defense honest by knocking down a few 3-pointers.

Bishop Daniels - One of the more athletic guards in the 2011 class, Daniels was on top of his game Friday night. He made good decisions with the basketball, got to the rim and finished and also knocked down jumpers. The improvement in his jump shot and mental game has been evident so far on this year's travel circuit.

Jalen Jones - A 6-foot-6 2011 forward from Mansfield (Texas) Timberview, Jones continually broke free in transition for athletic finishes at the rim. He also played with a high motor on defense and on the glass. A high-level athlete, he even knocked down a couple of long range shots, although attacking the rim appears to be his forte.

Byron Wesley - This 2011 USC commitment isn't overly athletic, but he has a variety of shots at his disposal. He is adept at using his body to create space and then has some crafty shots to finish with.

Darnell Harris - A 6-foot-7 combo forward, Harris didn't do a whole lot inside the arc, but he hit three 3-pointers off the catch during one stretch.

Cameron Golden - A promising 2012 point guard prospect, Golden had his left-handed jumper on target Friday night.

Vaughn Gray - A physical swingman, Gray impressed with his ball-handling skills.
