Carson Coffman was named a National Performer of the Week following his outing against Kansas, the College Football Performance Awards has announced.Kansas State senior quarterback
K-State's Stephen Harrison also earned honorable mention defensive back of the week honors by the organization following a stellar performance against the Jayhawks.
Coffman had arguably his best game as a Wildcat last week when he went 15-for-16 for 184 yards and two touchdowns through the air, while he rushed 10 times for 42 yards and three scores to lead the Wildcats to a 59-7 victory over the Jayhawks.
The Peculiar, Mo., product registered a 231.6 pass efficiency against KU, the highest since Allen Webb's school record of 300.9 against North Texas in 2005. His three rushing scores were also the most by a Wildcat quarterback since Josh Freeman had four rushing touchdowns at Texas A&M in 2008.
For the season, Coffman is 75-of-114 for 914 yards and eight touchdowns as opposed to just three interceptions. His season quarterback efficiency of 151.03 ranks third in the Big 12 and 29th nationally after jumping 14 spots from last week's ranking of 43rd.
Harrison was also vital to the Wildcats' victory over the Jayhawks as he returned a fumble 85-yards for a touchdown, which broke an 86-year old school record for the longest fumble return. The Dallas, Texas, native also intercepted his first career pass in the end zone on the next KU possession.
