Veii says BC on top

Jacquille Veii recently took an unofficial visit to Boston College and the Eagles are on the top of his list mainly because of the coaching staff and their honesty.

The Gaithersburg (Md.) Avalon School athlete said he really appreciated the bluntness of the coaches and that he still plans to wait a while to make his decision but that Boston College stands out most.

Veii is a teammate and close friend of Rachid Ibrahim, a running back who also has the Eagles on top of his list.

"What stood out about Boston College is that it's really like a family thing up there," Veii said. "I fit right in and I felt like it was natural there. It felt like home to me. That's what really stood out.

"We want to see what everyone else has to offer and then we'll make our decision but as of right now that school is our leader."

Veii, a 5-foot-10, 174-pound two-star prospect by Rivals.com, said his conversations with coach Mike Siravo and coach Frank Spaziani made him feel comfortable about the program and spending four years there.

If Boston College continues to recruit him so well, it might become a reality that Veii plays his college ball there.

"What stands out so much about it to me is the coaching staff," Veii said. "They're real with you. I had a really good conversation with coach Siravo and then coach Spaziani.

"They give you what's real and what's going on. There is no run-around and that's what really, really stands out. You want to be somewhere where you know what's going on at all times and it's the truth and there's no messing around.

"I want to still see some other schools. This is a big decision. This is where you'll spend four years of your life and where you'll be making lifelong friends and so this is not a light thing."

Iowa, Ohio, Charlotte, Fordham, Old Dominion and Stony Brook have also offered.
