The House of Horrors delivered another episode Saturday night for Florida State. Ranked third in the nation, the undefeated Seminoles (5-1, 2-1 ACC) fell to host North Carolina State (4-2, 1-1) in another late-developing game.

Florida State led 16-0 at the half, controlling the game on both sides of the ball, save for not cashing in while operating in the red zone. Those misfortunes came back to bite the 'Noles, who went scoreless in the final 30 minutes only to see senior quarterback Mike Glennon convert on a fourth-and-goal with 16 seconds remaining to seal the defeat.

Running back Chris Thompson was a bright spot for FSU, as the senior ran for over 100 yards in the first half. However, Thompson was stifled like the FSU offense after the break, totaling 26 second-half yards on 11 carries.

Seminole quarterback EJ Manuel turned the ball over on a third and 10 inside Wolfpack territory to end the third quarter in addition to a poor third-down sack with FSU again deep in N.C. State's half of the field.

The multiple openings provided by Florida State gave Glennon and the Wolfpack offense the chances they needed to secure the upset. Glennon capped off a game-winning 12 play, 58-yarde drive with a three yard touchdown completion to Bryan Underwood in the Wolfpack's final chance to secure a win.

Florida State moves on to play Boston College in Tallahassee next week. Kickoff is set for 5:30 P.M. on ESPN.

First quarter

RALEIGH, N.C.
The Skinny: Florida State and N.C. State spent much of the first quarter stalling drives between the 30-yard-lines. The Seminoles were able to turn that into points after a 22-yard drive led to a 49-yard field goal from Dustin Hopkins.

Key Play: Florida State quarterback EJ Manuel faced a third-and-17 and a ton of pressure up the middle. He stood in and found receiver Rashad Greene for a crucial first down pickup late in the first quarter. The drive continued past the end of the first quarter.

Key Stat: In the hostile road environment, Florida State was able to control possession, limiting the Wolfpack to just 25 total yards and two first downs in the opening period.

Key player: Chris Thompson was the workhorse for the Seminoles in the first quarter. He ran six times for 51 yards while catching one pass for 25 yards.

Second quarter

Halftime Stats
FSUNC State
Total Yards 221 68
Yards Passing 117 41
Yards Rushing 104 27
Fumbles/INTs 0/0 0/1
1st Downs 10 4
Penalties/Yards 3-30 2-8
RZ Att./TD/FG 3/1/2 0/0/0
3rd Down Conv. 1-3 1-4
T.O.P. 16:07 13:53

The Skinny: Florida State's defense is stifling N.C. State, and while the 'Noles lead 16-0, the lead is seemingly insurmountable. N.C. State has mustered only 68 total yards and four first downs - two in each quarter. NCSU QB Mike Glennon is 6-of-13 passing for 41 yards and one interception.

Key Play: Florida State got its first touchdown of the game on first and goal from the NCSU 4. Manuel found tight end Nick O'Leary for a 4-yard score, O'Leary's first touchdown of the 2012 season. The score gave the Seminoles a 10-0 lead with 13:53 left in the quarter.

Key Stat:N.C. State is averaging 2.3 yards per play (29 plays, 68 yards).

Key player: Chris Thompson continues to dominate. He tallied 14 carries for 115 yards in the first half to go with two catches for 29 yards.

Third quarter

Third Quarter Stats
FSUNC State
Total Yards 281 167
Yards Passing 150 141
Yards Rushing 131 49
Fumbles/INTs 0/1 0/1

Penalties/Yards 2-25 0-0
RZ Att./TD/FG 3/1/2 1/0/1
3rd Down Conv. 2-10 4-12

Third quarter

The Skinny: "Ugly" is an apt word to describe the third quarter for Florida State. The Seminole offense was stifled for the most part of the frame, and EJ Manuel essentially ended the quarter with an interception on a slant route to Rodney Smith. N.C. State put together a lengthy drive in the third quarter - a 15 play, 78-yard drive to be exact - but the Wolfpack only came away with three points.

Key Play: It's impossible to know how the interception turns out, but Manuel's third down gaffe at the Wolfpack 33-yard line could come back to bite the 'Noles.

Key Stat: Three. After a lengthy drive that tired the Seminole defense, that's all that N.C. State came away with on a lengthy drive.

Key player: Timmy Jernigan was a key reason that the Wolfpack only came away with a field goal in a quarter that it dominated head to toe.

Fourth quarter

Fourth Quarter Stats
FSUNC State
Total Yards 343 324
Yards Passing 218 266
Yards Rushing 125 158
Fumbles/INTs 0/1 0/1

Penalties/Yards 5-59 4-39
RZ Att./TD/FG 3/1/2 2/0/2
3rd Down Conv. 3-15 5-18

Fourth quarter

The Skinny: It happened again. Florida State again dropped an improbable game to N.C. State in Carter-Finley Stadium, with Mike Glennon hitting a fourth-down pass to put the Wolfpack ahead for good with 16 seconds to go. N.C. State hit two enormous fourth down tries to gain the late advantage and the win.

Key Play: Facing fourth and goal with under twenty seconds to go, Glennon hit reciever Bryan Underwood with on a late breaking in-route in order to put North Carolina State ahead for good.

Key Stat: Zero. That't the total amount of points scored in the second half of Saturday's game.

Key player: Mike Glennon hit on 31 of 56 pass attempts for 266 yards and two scores against one interception. What's most telling in this game? Glennon was sacked just one time behind an offensive line that surrendered an ACC-high 16 sacks coming into the game.
