Opening comments:

Ready to roll, really liked practice this week. Rejuvenation of things, think we got our minds back in the right spot. Understood what it takes to go on the road, learned a good lessons last week about how you got to be ready to (bring your game) all the time. Team's on a homefield are going to play you very tough. NC State will this week. I was very pleased with the attitude we had this week in practice, very detail oriented. I think that's the sign of a good football team and I hope we can go and continue to play like that. I'm anxious to see what happens on the road with all the distractions and things that go on.

On NC State's injured offensive linemen:

It does, but sometimes it matters with experience, how much they've played. Obviously they would rather have their other guys, but they'll be ready to play, they'll have them ready.

On the team dealing with the noise at practice:

I thought it was really good. Sometimes those are your best practices because they cant hear us yelling at them and it makes you focus. You know you have to.

On FSU's O-line going into a hostile road environment:

That's why you have to put them in there and go. They've been in practice with us. They've been in practice with Trickett, that's a hostile environment everyday. They'll be fine.

On Menelik Watson:

Yeah, he's good. He'll be ready to go, he's ready to go.

On the ACC moving back to eight conference games:

I think it's good, I was a proponent of the eight game deal in the first place. It's kind of weird how it's happening right now when you're planning. It's going to put a lot of teams scrambling here quickly for teams that aren't already booked up for games. But I think it's a good thing as far as how you can structure a schedule and some of the freedom it gives you to do.

On playing an extra ACC game and not counting it as a conference game:

I don't know if you want to do that, I want to wait and see everything. It's too early for me to answer that, but I can see where he comes from because the problem comes from trying to find a game. Everybody jokes about us getting Savannah State, you could not find a game and everybody thinks I'm crazy but wait until 12 of them go through it this year. That's what happens. These guys know how hard it is to find one, might be the only way you can find a game until you get your schedule fixed up in the future, I don't know. I guarantee that's where it's coming from though.

On FSU getting a jump on that with the situation with Nevada:

Exactly right. We're jumping, but I don't know what we're seeing out there, it's hard.

On it opening up the options long term:

Oh no doubt, it frees you up whether you want to play more national games, more series, more different things in the way it goes. But you still have to be careful to make sure you get enough home games to pay your bills. But you still can play a much different schedule and I think it's a good thing.
