Selected quotes from Fisher's post-practice media interview

Opening comments:

Good solid Thursday. Nice weather. Had good weather all week. Did really nice. Things are going well, had a good practice. Liked our practice, liked our tempo, liked our execution. We executed very well, challenged our kids after breaks and things to come back and focus and pretend like they were halftime or quarters, did a real nice job of that. Addressed a lot of issues, kids were really upbeat and I think we'll play well Saturday.

On Menelik Watson practicing:

Yes he did. He went the whole day today, which is good, no lingering effects and all that-was better and that really helped. Also got a lot of work for Glauser and Bobby Hart and those guys too, which was very good.

On treating the breaks like quarters or halftime:

You take a break and you come back out the first play and the intensity, you make them-bang! Bang! Here's the intensity. If you look at the rest of the halves, except the last one, we scored sometimes, but we move the ball like crazy. The second half, our percentage of scoring touchdowns are higher than in the first half. And we have a great one in the first half…we simulate a lot of the same things.

On BC having top tacklers:

Their style of defense-they do a great job up front of keeping people off the linebackers, but they're very well coached, take great angles, tackle well in space…they recruit a certain type of guys.

On the running back rotation:

No matter what, Chris will be our starter, but we're going to rotate, got to get the rotation going. Because for a game or two that's good, but the accumulation of a year can pound you and beat you and you have to make it through the whole season for what goes on. But we'll keep them in a little better rotation.

On James Wilder and Devonta Freeman in practice:

Practiced well, doing much better, have done good things, picking up everything, hitting holes. James was playing really well early in the season, but Chris got hot there a little bit and we stayed with the hot hand.

On Thompson possibly rushing for 1000 yards:

No, I'm not aware of it, we don't ever look that way, but it would be great if he does. Hopefully, because you have to continue to run the ball to be successful and I hope for sake this happens. Because he's a very good player, a very dynamic player and a super human being.

On Thompson being an NFL guy:

Yeah I think so. Oh yeah, I think he'll play in the NFL. I do. He's very strong and powerful.

On being close to passing the rushing total for all of last season:

They're doing a great job running the football and controlling the line of scrimmage. That's one of the things we want to do.

On special teams:

We spend more time here on special teams than most do. And with starters playing in games or backups or anyone as far as time. We got that fixed hopefully.
