Alexander Couldn't Wait Long for Sooners
For a few days after his Oklahoma offer, three-star athlete Dominique Alexander tried to fight the thought that was in his head. The Tulsa Booker T. Washington standout had long been committed to Arkansas but couldn't deny growing up a Sooner fan.
However, it was far from a sure thing for the Sooners coaching staff who were going to have to make up for a few perceived slights after Alexander felt he was 'just another guy' at Oklahoma's junior day last spring and again at Oklahoma's summer camp the first week of June. That being said Alexander had also pledged his future to Arkansas after the odd story that eventually led to the removal of Bob Petrino as the Razorbacks head coach.
After the Oklahoma coaching staff saw senior film they offered Alexander as an outside linebacker/safety in the mold of many Mike Stoops players.
On Monday afternoon he let the world know that he had officially taken the first step in changing his mind about his future college - he changed his commitment status.
"I just decommitted from the University of Arkansas," Alexander texted to SoonerScoop.com on Monday around lunchtime.
And tonight he followed that news up with word he had told Bob Stoops of his plan.
"I talked to coach Stoops tonight and committed," Alexander told SoonerScoop.com.
"Dreams come true when you work hard for them."
