Instant Analysis: UF moves to 5-0 with win

In a teacher-student battle between Billy Donovan and former UF assistant and current UCF head coach Donnie Jones, the No. 7 Gators (5-0) prevailed 79-66 against Central Florida (3-2). Instant Analysis takes a look at how Florida made the victory happen.

IT WAS OVER WHEN: The Gators were hit and miss in the second half, starting slow before finding an offensive rhythm. That didn't keep them from comfortably getting the game in hand toward the end. When Kenny Boynton hit a big 3-pointer around the six-minute mark, Florida took a 20-point lead and complete control of the game.

HE STOLE THE SHOW: In his third game back from the suspension that kept him out of Florida's first few games, guard Scottie Wilbekin had a career afternoon inside the O'Connell Center. Wilbekin made Florida's first shot after the game after missing its first nine shots. He continued to open on a tear and finished with 17 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

THE STAT DOESN'T LIE: After opening the game shooting 0 of 9 from the field, the Gators went on a span where they shot 9 of 16 to build a big lead. Florida against started slow in the second half, allowing UCF to get within seven points before once again pulling away.

OH WHAT A PLAY: Casey Prather is back. After missing Florida's first four games because he suffered two concussions in nine days, the junior returned to the lineup and scored eight points with four rebounds. None were flashier than a drive and reverse slam late in the second half that brought Florida's bench to its feet.

THIS MATCHUP PROVED KEY: UCF's guard play was incredibly limited, something that led to the Knights playing a 2-3 zone that Florida was often able to shred on the perimeter. Wilbekin and Boynton both played as well as they have all season aside from some early missed shots because of an up-tempo first half. The two guards combined for 41 points.
