News leaked out over the weekend that Jimbo Fisher had filled two vacant spots on his coaching staff.

Alabama defensive backs coach Jeremy Pruitt will succeed Mark Stoops as Florida State's next defensive coordinator. Joining Pruitt on the defensive staff will be former Tennessee defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri, who has been attending FSU practices this week as an observer.

While the additions to FSU's staff had been widely reported there has been nothing official from Fisher. On Tuesday afternoon after the Seminoles' fourth pre-bowl practice he continued to decline to confirm that anyone had been hired to fill the vacant coaching spots.

"There's nothing we can comment on," said Fisher. "We have to get through a process."

In addition to Pruitt and Sunseri there is at least one more coaching vacancy left to fill on the offensive side of the ball with the departure of running backs coach Eddie Gran.

Fisher added that the new coaches could be on the sideline for the Jan. 1 Orange Bowl.

  • Sunseri attended his second straight practice and wore a gold FSU shirt.

  • Fisher noted that former Director of Football Operations Erik Korem not only received a promotion by joining Mark Stoops in Kentucky but a substantial raise. He's salary reportedly went from $85,000 at FSU to $240,000 at Kentucky.

  • Mark Stoops was not at Tuesday's practice but per Fisher he might be back on Thursday.

  • Fisher was non-committal when asked questions about assistant coach Greg Hudson's future. FSU's linebackers coach has been subject of rumors that he might be going elsewhere after the bowl game. "We are going through this game and he (Hudson) will continue to be our linebackers coach through the bowl game," he said.
