Sooners Visitor Has Work to do

Coming into his official visit over the weekend Lithonia (Ga.) Martin Luther King three-star offensive guard Joshua Outlaw, the Peach State's No. 32 overall prospect, was seen as an interior prospect for the Sooners. However, that was news to him as well as offensive tackles coach Bruce Kittle, who clarified that Oklahoma sees him as potential help on the perimeter of their offensive line.

"They like me at tackle, that's what I'd prefer to play," Outlaw said. "Other than that, (Kittle) was just trying to let me know about the program and what they have going on and if I came to Oklahoma what it would be like and what needs they have and their tradition and what it's like playing for coach (Bob) Stoops. He just let me know the true facts about Oklahoma.

"The whole visit went pretty good, I enjoyed it, I had a great time with coach Kittle and some of the players."

Outlaw, who has already visited Utah and TCU, will now head to Missouri on Monday for a previously unreported visit then Outlaw will take his final official to Texas tech next weekend. He'll then announce his decision on Feb. 6.

"Tomorrow I got to Missouri and then Texas Tech on Friday. I'm going to announce on National Signing Day," he said.

In the meantime Outlaw enjoyed his trip to Norman and though it's different from his Atlanta home in so many ways he says that spending time with several Sooners and going around the campus was a highlight of his trip.

"Ty Darlington and Chuka Ndulue were my hosts; they are pretty cool guys, they showed me around," the nation's No. 24 guard said. "Norman was pretty awesome, the players were pretty excited, and the players are beloved. I enjoyed that."

So with Outlaw seeing many seeming positives for Oklahoma what exactly is he looking for from his future college destination?

"I'd like to find just a great overall environment, the opportunity to play early and a place where I have a good relationship with the coaches that allows me to establish myself," he said.

So is playing time in Norman a possibility according to the reports given to Outlaw from the Sooner coaching staff?

"Oh yeah."
