All-ACC Team Announced

The year has come and gone, as the regular season has come to an end and tournament time begins.

With that, the ACC has announced its All-ACC team, with a couple of surprises but with many deserving players on each team.

North Carolina had two names announced on the list, as Reggie Bullock and James Michael McAdoo had their name announced.

McAdoo has led the team in scoring and rebounding for most of the year, averaging 14.6 points per game, while grabbing 7.6 rebounds.

However, Bullock has been widely known as the most consistent player on the team and recently has been on a tear, almost averaging a double-double at the end of the season.

N.C. State and Duke each had three names announced on its team, having one player in each category.

Here are the names listed for each team announced, with their respectable votes received next to them.

First Team

Mason Plumlee, Duke (226)
Erick Green, Virginia Tech (225)
Shane Larkin, Miami (224)
Joe Harris, Virginia (219)
Richard Howell, NC State (192)

Second Team

Seth Curry, Duke (178)
Kenny Kadji, Miami (131)
Lorenzo Brown, NC State (122)
Reggie Bullock, North Carolina (119)
James Michael McAdoo, North Carolina (97)

Third Team

Michael Snaer, Florida State (93)
C.J. Leslie, NC State (80)
Ryan Anderson, Boston College (46)
Akil Mitchell, Virginia (43)
Devin Booker, Clemson (43)
Quinn Cook, Duke (43)

Overall, the votes look to be right, as Mason Plumlee has been a dominate figure down low, along with Erick Green, who was the leading scorer in the ACC and in the nation at 25.4 points per game.

Richard Howell could have been the only question mark, but Howell had 16 double-doubles for N.C. State, averaging 12 points per game while grabbing 10 rebounds a game.

Shane Larkin was regarded as possibly the best player at point guard and possibly in the ACC, as he has led Miami to its first ACC Title since joining the league.

Lorenzo Brown had to miss quite a few games this year, but has led the year in assists per game, dishing out seven a game. If Brown hadn't missed those games, N.C. State could have been looking at a first round bye in the ACC Tournament possibly.

Michael Snaer had to be on the list somewhere, as he was picked first team in the preseason. With multiple clutch shots at the end of games this year, Snaer managed to make it on the Third team All-ACC this year.

The most surprising fall this year though, had to be the fall of C.J. Leslie, as he was picked to be the Player of the Year, but yet only received 80 total votes. Even though Leslie had a decent statistically, Leslie had a reputation of not always showing up for every game.

There were a few names mentioned on the Honorable Mention list, just missing out on the list:

Durand Scott, Miami (39)
P.J. Hairston, North Carolina (30)
C.J. Harris, Wake Forest (27)
Alex Len, Maryland (19)
Olivier Hanlan, Boston College (13)
Travis McKie, Wake Forest (13)
Ryan Kelly, Duke (12)
Okaro White, Florida State (6)
Scott Wood, N.C. State (5)
Dez Wells, Maryland (4)
Devin Thomas, Wake Forest (1)
Julian Gamble, Miami (1)
T.J. Warren, NC State (1)

There were many players this year that could have been on the list, making it difficult to decide who would be on the list.

Much of how the race for National Player of the Year, as there has really been no clear cut player that has stood out from the rest; the ACC has been much of the game, with so many talented players on different teams.

With it being so well rounded, it should make for a wild and crazy ACC Tournament, which starts this coming Thursday in Greensboro.
