Quarterbacks

J.J. Cosentino sasd
Lead Recruiter: Sal Sunseri
sax Central Catholic

40: NA
Rank: #13 PS QB

Other Offers:
USF, Penn State

Next FSU visit: Summer

Langston's Take:

Cosentino would be the fourth quarterback on the roster heading into the 2014 season. John Franklin (2013 commitment) will get a shot a QB, but he will most likely end up at a skill position. Cosentino is a pure pocket passer. He is athletic enough to run - he plays basketball in high school as well - but prefers to stay in the pocket.

Jacob Park sassd
Lead Recruiter: Jay Graham
sax Stratford
Goose Creek, S.C.

Ht: 6-4
Wt: 210
40: 4.6
Rank: #9 PS QB

Other Offers:
Ala, Ark, UNC, ND, TN and others

Next FSU visit: TBA

Park gets UNC offer

Scouting Video

Langston's Take:

If FSU decided to take another quarterback, 6-foot-4, 210 pound Jacob Park would be at the top of its wish list. Park told Warchant.com that FSU's offense fits him because he likes to use his athleticism to keep plays alive and that Fisher is at his best when coaching up quarterbacks. Park has a three year relationship with FSU assistant coach Jay Graham. He expects to visit FSU in July so he can meet with Fisher and quarterbacks coach Randy Sanders. He doesn't have any leaders at this point, but has taken visits to North Carolina and South Carolina.

Others in the mix: None

Comments: It's not out of the question that Florida State would take a second quarterback in this class in addition to current commitment J.J. Cosentino. That's still up for discussion among the staff. However, in case that does happen, FSU has some options lined up. If they did push for another quarterback. it's not a reflection of Cosentino. FSU loves what they have with him at quarterback and where they stand.

Running Backs

T.J. Harrell sass
Lead Recruiter: Lawrence Dawsey
sax Tampa Catholic
Tampa, Fla.

Ht: 6-1
Wt: 210
40: 4.5
Rank: #22 RB

Other Offers:
Florida, Michigan St., Mississippi St., others

Next FSU visit: July

Three-star gets UM offer

Langston's Take:

During our recruiting tour, USF came up in conversation, but when FSU came up, Harrell lit up a lot more when talking about Jimbo Fisher and Jay Graham. I feel confident that FSU is at the top of his list. A lot of people were perplexed when we mentioned Harrell is the top RB prospect on the board. The key to that logic is how high the staff is on him. He is a power back who can do it all. Harrell plans to visit this summer, likely in July. He has no set time for a decision.

Daniel Gresham sass
Lead Recruiter: Jay Graham
sax All Saints Episcopal
Fort Worth, Texas

Ht: 5-10
Wt: 231
40: 4.59
Rank: #39 RB

Other Offers:
Alabama, Louisville, Miami, Tennessee, others

Next FSU visit: July

Former Texas commit high on UM

Scouting Video

Langston's Take:

Gresham's decommitment should come as no surprise as we have been talking about how the Seminoles have been sitting in good position for Gresham for about three months and how his separation from Texas was imminent. Gresham is very close with Jay Graham. The two have known each other for the past two and a half years. Gresham really likes how FSU uses all their backs, including Lonnie Pryor. At this point FSU stands out. Schools like Alabama, Miami and Tennessee are the main competition. Expect a FSU visit in July. A decision could follow after that.

Derrell Scott sasssa
Lead Recruiter: Jay Graham
sax Havelock
Havelock, N.C.

Ht: 5'10
Wt: 181
40: 4.55
Rank: #2 (AP)

Other Offers:
Miami, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, others

Next FSU visit: June 14

RCS: Top running backs

Scouting Video

Langston's Take:

Scott is another back very high on the radar. He has a very good relationship with Jay Graham. Early on, I would have said South Carolina held the lead over FSU. Things have changed since then and I would give Florida State the slight advantage now. Why? Graham would be a big reason, but fit into the FSU offense is another factor. Scott is a shifty, between the tackles runner. He will visit FSU on June 14 and there's a possibility he could camp.

Jonathan Vickers sasasa

Lead Recruiter: Jeremy Pruitt

sax North Florida Christian
Tallahassee, Fla.

Ht: 6'0
Wt: 205

Rank: 30

Other Offers:
Alabama, Clemson, Georgia Tech, others

Next FSU visit: TBA

Scouting video

Langston's Take:

One of the backs that made a strong impression this spring was Vickers, who picked up an FSU offer last week. The FSU staff wanted to see how Vickers moved post knee injury. We hear he looked very fluid. It would be surprising if Vickers didn't end up in this class now that an offer has been extended. The quota for running backs is three, but it could be pushed to four if possible, including a fullback.

Donte Thomas-Williams sasasasa
Lead Recruiter: Jay Graham
sax Hillside
Durham, N.C.

Ht: 6-0
Wt: 221

Rank: 24

Other Offers:
Clemson, Florida, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, West Virginia, others

Next FSU visit: July

WR gets offer after UM evaluates him

Scouting video

Langston's Take:

Thomas-Williams isn't a player we have mentioned as a top target compared to the other prospects, but he is one Jay Graham and company have very high on. He is expected to visit in July. If that visit does happen, this recruitment will get very interesting because we hear his family is very tight with Graham.

Gerald Owens sasasa
Lead Recruiter: Sal Sunseri
sax West Deptford
Westville, N.J.

Ht: 6-1
Wt: 266

Rank: #2 (Fullback)

Other Offers:
Boston College, Michigan State, Ohio State, Rutgers, others

Next FSU visit: June

Recent article:
BC has Owens' attention

Scouting video

Langston's Take:

Another big back high on the radar. Owens can play that big role for fullback and running back like Pryor. He is expected to camp at FSU in late June. Ohio State and Rutgers are both making strong pushes here, along with the Seminoles. He has developed a close bond with Sunseri, but the key is to get him on campus.

Others in the mix: Royce Freeman, Shai McKenzie, Donte Thomas-Williams, Aeris Williams, Cortavious Givens

Comments: I would have thrown Leonard Fournette into the others in the mix category because he would be the top option. However, I wanted to focus on the realistic options for FSU. The staff is very high on Freeman and his interest in FSU is very legit. But Oregon is a major concern. McKenzie is another prospect the staff likes, but not quite as much as some others.

On Williams, he's a new running back target that the FSU staff visited with in the spring. I hear the staff is very high on him so keep a close watch for Williams going forward. I hear from those close to Williams he plans to visit FSU in late June. He is being recruited by Tim Brewster.
