Bello says he is a solid FSU commitment

Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) three-star offensive tackle Abdul Bello committed to Florida State on Tuesday. The massive 6-foot-5, 298-pound 16 year-old had more than 20 scholarship offers and plenty of schools hoping to land his commitment. Not bad for a kid that has played only six games of football.

Despite all the attention from some of the top schools in the country, Bello was drawn to the Seminoles which made the decision to commit an easy one.

Bello visited several schools throughout the spring and summer including Florida, Alabama and Florida State. However, he says no school he visited compared to the feeling he had whenever he was in Tallahassee.

Last week, Bello made a return visit for the Jimbo Fisher Camp. He worked with assistant coach Rick Trickett for two days and drew high praise from FSU's offensive line coach throughout the camp. One thing remained constant on both visits - the comfort he felt whenever he was on campus.

"My commitment is very solid. I committed on Tuesday and I'm not changing my mind," Bello told Warchant.com. "I'm very happy about going to Florida State. I've actually been holding off my commitment for some time just to make sure. Then I went to the FSU camp and really felt that was the place I wanted to be."

Despite announcing his commitment before the start of his senior season, Bello is very confident in his decision. He feels he didn't rush into it and was not pressured at all.

"That's the one thing, Coach Trickett never did was pressure me. He told me that he needed, wanted me and we would talk all the time about school and what I was looking for in a program," Bello explained. "He was focused on getting to know me personally throughout the time he recruited me."

The nation's No. 32 ranked offensive tackle in the country plans return to Tallahassee this fall Sept. 20 Clemson game.
