Wilson to return to field for FSU; Casher undetermined
Wilson was suspended indefinitely during the offseason after pleading no contest to misdemeanor theft charges this summer. Wilson was one of FSU's highest-regarded wide receivers after spring football and in line to take over one of the starting wide receiver spots in the fall before his suspension.
Fisher and FSU did not put a firm date on when the suspension was to end. Wilson dressed out with the wide receivers for Saturday's game against Oklahoma State, but did not play.
"We had no plans on playing him before, but he did everything we asked him to do," Fisher said. "He's been very mature in how he's handled things. I think sometimes taking a guy to a game, having him sit there, is worse than leaving him at home."
While Wilson is returning to the field, redshirt sophomore defensive end Chris Casher's status is still up in the air. Casher, who is listed as a starter at edge rusher for FSU, missed Saturday's season opener with an undisclosed academic issue. FSU has declined to go in to any more detail and Fisher said on Monday that he was still unsure of what would happen.
FSU originally hoped to have some resolution on Casher's status this week.
