After months and months of personal observations by the Rivals100.com recruiting analysts, hours of film review, interviews with countless college and high school coaches, Rivals.com is proud to release its second ranking for the Class of 2004.

Sure it would have been easy to throw out a bunch of names early on, but the painstaking evaluation process has allowed us to feel especially confident about the rankings that will be released over the next several weeks.

Without further adieu, Rivals.com is excited to announce players that are ranked No. 6 through No. 10 in the nation for the Class of 2004 and their five-star rankings.

At the No. 6 spot is the nation's top quarterback Rhett Bomar of Grand Prairie, Texas. Bomar is the center of a major recruiting battle between several teams, including bitter rivals Oklahoma and Texas.

So why are the teams after Bomar? Just ask any college coach that's recruiting him.

"He reminds me so much of John Elway with his size, frame and his right arm," said a Big 12 assistant coach. "What's impressive about Rhett is that he's not one-dimensional at all. He's a guy that can kill you with his arm and with his legs. He's just one of those special quarterbacks that come along every once in a while."

With defensive linemen in vogue in the NFL, it's no surprise that one of the nation's best players is also a defensive tackle. College coaches from all over the map are after Demarrio Pressley out of Greensboro, N.C., and he's one of the best players to come out of North Carolina in years.

Following Pressley at the defensive line spot is the nation's top defensive end prospect, Brandon Miller of Colquitt (Ga.) Miller County. Miller, who is likely Georgia bound, has one of the best first steps that you'll see in a defensive end prospect and that's why he's ranked as the nation's No. 8 player overall.

The nation's No. 2 linebacker, Willie Williams out of Miami, Fla., is No. 9 in the top 10. As a junior, Williams was named first team all-Dade as well as first team all-state. As a sophomore he earned second team all-Dade honors.

At a combine on Tuesday, Williams ran an electronic 4.6-second time in the 40-yard dash, had a 35-inch vertical leap and also put up 225 pounds more than 20 times. All of which are amazing and show what type of athlete Williams is.

"He's one of the best linebackers to come out of South Florida in quite some time," said a Big East recruiting coordinator. "And you know what type of players and linebackers come out of South Florida."

The No. 10 spot is home for the nation's No. 2 quarterback Anthony Morelli of Pittsburgh, Pa. Morelli is a rifle armed passer that can throw deep. Morelli averaged a whopping 24.7 yards per completion as a junior. He was an all-conference performer that was also selected to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review's Terrific 25. He attended the Elite 11 quarterback camp in California as a ballboy as a junior.

"I know that some people are really high on Chad Henne, but Morelli is the more complete quarterback at this point," said an SEC recruiting coordinator. "Henne is right up there, too, but Morelli is just one of those heady kids that has a strong arm and is just a little bit more athletic. That makes him the perfect big-time quarterback."
