Riddell Footwear: Quarterback Nominations

Quarterback Nominations
The Riddell Footwear High School All-American Football Team recognizes the best football players in the entire country. Additionally, the team will bestow seven special coaching awards - one to the national high school coach of the year and six more to regional coaches of the year throughout the country. Here are the nominations for the quarterback position. The actual team members will be announced in January, along with the Riddell Footwear National Coach of the Year and six Riddell Footwear Regional Coaches of the Year.

Olson, Ben
James Banks
Indianapolis Ben Davis
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 195 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.5 seconds
GPA: 3.0
Banks is one of the top athletes in the Midwest, regardless of position. Banks is a standout quarterback talent that passed for 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns last season and also rushed for 750 yards.
College choices: Clemson, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

Olson, Ben
Gavin Dickey
Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 190 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.4 seconds
GPA: 3.0
Dickey can kill you with his arm or his feet. Dickey is labeled by many as an option specialist, but he threw for 1,400 yards last season and accounted for 24 touchdowns. He is also a solid baseball prospect.
College choices: Georgia Tech, Miami, Notre Dame and USC.

Olson, Ben
Trent Edwards
Los Gatos, Calif.
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 190 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.7 seconds

Edwards could be the most accurate quarterback in the country. He accounted for 125 completions on 160 attempts for a completion percentage of 78.1 percent.
College choices: Stanford, UCLA, California, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State and USC.

Olson, Ben
Reggie McNeal
Lufkin, Texas
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 210 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.32 seconds
GPA: 3.5
McNeal is one of the top overall quarterback prospects in the nation this year. Possessing incredible speed and tremendous arm strength, few players in the country get the blood pumping like McNeal. "I look at Reggie and I see a young man of character," John Outlaw, his coach, said.
College choices: Committed to Texas A&M.

Olson, Ben
Ben Olson
Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 205 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.65 seconds
GPA: 3.6
Olson is right at the top of the list as one of the top pure passing quarterbacks in the country. He has the physical tools and mental capacity to dominate a defense solely with his arm, but his legs can be just as much a threat. Olson accounted for 2,907 yards passing with 17 touchdowns and just six interceptions as a junior.
College choices: Brigham Young, USC, UCLA, Michigan, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Stanford.

Olson, Ben
Tyler Palko

The younger brother of former Virginia Tech star Michael Vick, Marcus Vick has similar ability when it comes to running and throwing the ball. Some think he'd be a better wide receiver in college, but he definitely is a gamebreaker.
College choices: Miami, Tennessee, Florida State, Virginia and Georgia.

Olson, Ben
Vincent Young
Houston Madison
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 195 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.4 seconds
