Part IV of EA SPORTS Elite 11 airs Thursday

While most high schoolers were relaxing and enjoying summer break during late July this year, a group of soon-to-be-seniors were sweating under the summer sun and honing their skills, already preparing for school.

Well, more specifically, preparing for football season.

These hard-working students were part of the EA SPORTS™ Elite 11, a combination camp and competition designed to give the best quarterbacks in the nation some top-level schooling by the best in the business.

Held in Aliso Viejo, California, the EA SPORTS Elite 11 actually featured 12 of the best young high-school quarterbacks receiving tutelage from such college standouts as Brad Smith of Missouri, Tyler Palko of Pitt, Jay Cutler of Vanderbilt, Drew Olson of UCLA, Jared Zabransky of Boise State and Jordan Palmer of UTEP.

When all was said and done, the fabulous 12 took away a wealth of knowledge from the four-day event -- and will receive some additional national exposure, on College Sports Television, or CSTV (DirecTV channel 610, check local cable listings), which will air a recap of the EA SPORTS Elite 11 in four-part series during the month of September.

The first segment, which aired on Thursday, September 1st, took viewers through the history of the EA SPORTS Elite 11 camp and reviewed the first half of the selection process for this year's participants.

The second segment, which aired on CSTV beginning Thursday, September 8th, focused on the final half of the selections, which all participated at the final EA SPORTS Elite 11 workout in Las Vegas on June 25th.

The final two episodes, which will premiere the next two Thursdays, September 15th and September 22nd respectively at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT, will focus entirely upon the four day campetition held in late July and provide an inside look at the event's activities both on and off the field.

The high school quarterbacks are selected for the event after an exhaustive evaluation process which includes both film research, an in-person workout (whether at a NIKE Camp or EA SPORTS Elite 11 Regional Workout) and a telephone interview. All told, when totaling both the NIKE Camps and EA Workouts, over 1,000 quarterbacks were evaluated in person this year, not to mention many more on tape.
