Bobby Bowden names Frady as Meinrod's replacement
Get the inside scoop on your favorite team:
Meinrod, who broke his left leg and dislocated his left ankle Saturday against Wake Forest, will likely be out for the season.
Frady, a junior, started two games at center earlier this season while David Castillo was out with a foot injury. Frady, who made his first career start in 2003 at Virginia in a game FSU won 19-14, will be back in the lineup when the Seminoles visit the Cavaliers on Saturday.
Redshirt freshman Cornelius Lewis finished the game in Meinrod's place against the Deamon Deacons, and will remain the backup.
"I think that it just made the most sense for me to move over to that side to keep the people that are experienced on the field and to prevent us from having to do too much of an overhaul on the line," Frady said.
Offensive line coach Mark McHale said on Monday that he also plans to rotate Lewis into the lineup to spell Frady, who has now played three different positions in his career.
Linebacker Ernie Sims (ankle) and cornerback Trevor Ford (shoulder) returned to action Monday after having to leave last weekend's game. For more coverage of the Florida State Seminoles, check out Warchant.com.
