It's all coming together for Travian Robertson.

After sitting out his junior season with a knee injury, the state of North Carolina's top defensive line prospect has enjoyed a stellar senior season - one that has included excellence in the classroom and on the football field.

His football prowess has earned him a spot in two postseason all-star games, including the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl on Jan. 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Rivals.com is the official selection partner of the game.

Five facts about Travian Robertson
Will head to South Carolina next year with his teammate, Byron McKnight, who also plays defensive end.
His sports hero is current Houston Texans and former N.C. State defensive end Mario Williams.
Admires former president Bill Clinton.
One of his hobbies is fishing.
Favorite movie is "Friday Night Lights"
Robertson, from Laurinburg (N.C.) Scotland County High, was pleased with his selection to the all-star game, which will be televised live by ESPNU.

"When they called me to tell me, I was kind of in shock," Robertson said. "I just paused for a little while, and then I got excited."

His academic achievements will allow him to graduate from high school and enter the University of South Carolina in January. Robertson committed to the Gamecocks before the start of the season.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Robertson - who will play on the East squad - was excited about playing on the same defensive line as one of his future Gamecock teammates.

"That's what it's all about," he said. "I found out (Cheraw (S.C.) High defensive end) Cliff Matthews is going to be playing in it, too, so that should be real good. We should be on the same team."

Other South Carolina commits on the East squad include Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna running back Brian Maddox and Columbia (S.C.) Spring Valley offensive tackle Quintin Richardson.

In addition to the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, Robertson will represent his home state of North Carolina in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, the annual all-star game which pits the best from the Tar Heel State against their neighbors from South Carolina.

Robertson is the nation's No. 92 overall prospect.
