Amazing stats: It's about scoring points

Before you get dazed and confused after a full day of eating turkey and all of the trimmings, we offer an "amuse bouche" of Amazing Stats.

Obviously I've been watching too much "Top Chef" on Bravo. But just so you know, an amuse bouche is a small, creative bite before the meal.

And the Amazing Stats are nothing if not creative. They don't always go down as well as pumpkin pie, but maybe if you throw a little whipped cream on them

All right, enough. Enjoy this week's helping of the stats, which focuses on some of this weekend's big games and intriguing matchups, and don't forget to come back for seconds.

P.S. When the score for the Purdue-Hawaii game is flashed late Saturday/early Sunday, don't worry, it's not a tryptophan-induced state. My pick: Hawaii 63, Purdue 59.
