Stephenson & Lincoln Suffer 1st Loss

Lance Stephenson and Abraham Lincoln High School of Brooklyn, NY suffered their first loss of the season Friday night in the semifinals of the Bojangles High School Shootout at Marvin Ridge High School in Waxhaw, N.C.

The Railsplitters fell to Archbishop Moeller (Ohio), 57-55. Moeller will meet Queens resident Samardo Samuels and St. Benedict's in Saturday's championship game. St. Benedict's, No. 1 in the USA Today Super 25 poll, knocked off Derrick Favors and South Atlanta (Ga.), 57-43.

Stephenson shot 7-for-13 and scored 16 points for Lincoln, adding six rebounds and three assists. He also made six turnovers.

Vincent Council also scored 16 for Lincoln, which shot 5-of-14 from the foul line.

Michael Davenport, a tough as nails guard for Moeller, scored a game-high 24.

While Lincoln and St. Benedict's will not meet in the championship, they are due to play an independent game Jan. 25 in New Jersey.
