Ranking them all: Rivals.com 120 at 1:20

At 1:20 p.m. ET each Monday, Rivals.com releases the 120 at 1:20, Mike Huguenin's ranking of every major college football team in the nation.

Mike Huguenin is the college sports editor for Rivals.com.
He can be heard on Rivals Radio every Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. ET and can be reached at mhuguenin@rivals.com.
Here are our weekly 1-120 rankings.

How do we come up with the rankings? A few things stand out: We take into account who a team has beaten and where, and we generally take a "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately?" attitude.

As a tiebreaker it's who we think would win on a neutral field.

Mike Huguenin's 120 at 1:20
1. ALABAMA (12-0)
The Buzz: The Crimson Tide are celebrating their first unblemished regular season since 1994. They played Florida in the SEC title game that season, too and they left Atlanta with a blemish. Next: Saturday, vs. Florida in Atlanta.
2. OKLAHOMA (11-1)
The Buzz: The Sooners' victory over Oklahoma State propelled them into Saturday's Big 12 Championship Game. A victory there would propel them into the national championship game. Next: Saturday, vs. Missouri in Kansas City, Mo.
3. FLORIDA (11-1)
The Buzz: The Gators have scored at least 42 points in an SEC-record seven consecutive games. Something tells me this week's defense will be a little tougher than those they've faced recently. Next: Saturday, vs. Alabama in Atlanta.
4. TEXAS (11-1)
The Buzz: The Longhorns did what they had to do in beating Texas A&M. Thing is, Oklahoma did what it had to do, too. Next: BCS bowl, TBA.
5. USC (10-1)
The Buzz: The Trojans look as if they'll have to be content with a Rose Bowl matchup against Penn State. Hey, that's what happens when you lose to Oregon State. Next: Saturday, at UCLA.
6. TEXAS TECH (11-1)
The Buzz: Was it a hangover after the whipping at the hands of Oklahoma? The Red Raiders had to rally past a four-win Baylor team. Next: Bowl, TBA.
7. UTAH (12-0)
The Buzz: Regular season ended last week. Next: BCS bowl, TBA.
8. PENN STATE (11-1)
The Buzz: Regular season ended last week. Next: BCS bowl, TBA.

13. OREGON (9-3)
The Buzz: The Ducks' rushing attack proved lethal to Oregon State's Rose Bowl plans. Next: Bowl, TBA.

15. BYU (10-2)
The Buzz: Regular season ended last week. Next: Bowl, TBA.
16. BALL STATE (12-0)

The Buzz: Regular season ended last week. Next: Bowl, TBA.
18. GEORGIA TECH (9-3)
The Buzz: OK, raise your hand if you don't think the triple option can work in a "Big Six" conference. Hmmm a lot fewer hands are up now than at the beginning of the season. Next: Bowl, TBA.
19. GEORGIA (9-3)
The Buzz: In each of its three losses, Georgia's defense was dominated. Against Georgia Tech on Saturday, the Bulldogs gave up 45 points despite allowing just one pass completion. Next: Bowl, TBA.
20. MISSOURI (9-3)
The Buzz: The Tigers may have won their second consecutive Big 12 North title, but Kansas can spend the offseason crowing about beating the Tigers. Next: Saturday, vs. Oklahoma in Kansas City, Mo.
The Buzz: BC has won the ACC Atlantic Division for the second season in a row. Hey, wasn't Miami the team from the Big East that was going to come in and win division titles? Next: Saturday, vs. Virginia Tech in Tampa, Fla.

The Buzz: Tailback LeSean McCoy is pretty darn good. Just ask West Virginia. Next: Saturday, at Connecticut.

The Buzz: The Mountaineers have been a disappointment this season. Their best win might be their rout of Connecticut. Next: Saturday, vs. USF.
The Buzz: The Pirates won the C-USA East crown. Do they have enough offense to get past Tulsa for the league title? Next: Saturday, at Tulsa.
The Buzz: The Chippewas head into the postseason on a two-game losing streak. The defense has a lot of work to do. Next: Bowl, TBA.
35. MIAMI (7-5)
The Buzz: In their five losses this season, the Hurricanes' young defense was overwhelmed. Next: Bowl, TBA.
36. MARYLAND (7-5)
The Buzz: The Terps lost three of their final four regular-season games. It's almost as if they realized they weren't really that good. Next: Bowl, TBA.
