Joe Mauer

Gatorade National High School Player of the Year…Parade and USA Today Player of the Year…also a Reebok/ESPN All-American…member of Max Emfinger's Nifty 150…also made Rivals.com Top 100…as a senior, completed 178 of 288 passes (61.8 pct) for 3,022 yards and a state-record tying 41 TD's…led his high school team to two straight appearances in the Minnesota Class 5A championship game…projected to be a first-round draft pick in upcoming Major League Baseball draft…in the five games of the national team trials tournament, Mauer led all players in batting average, hits, runs scored, doubles, total bases and on-base percentage. Mauer finished the trials batting .550 (11-for-20) with nine runs scored and three RBI…of his 11 hits, four were doubles…averages almost 20 points per game for his high school basketball team…from same high school as FSU's Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke…chose Florida State over Miami, Arizona and Minnesota.

Robert May

Late JUCO transfer. Holds the Illinois high school record of tackles in a season with 243. In his first season at Mount Sac May recorded 78 tackles leading his team to the top rated junior college defense in California. In his sophomore year he turned in a team-leading 11 sacks and 92 tackles. He also runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.5 range and recorded a 10.7 100 meter run in high school. The strength is also there as May boasts a bench press of 425-pounds.

A three-star offensive lineman, as rated by Borderwars.com collegiate recruiting site…one of the top offensive line prospects in the state of Florida…made both the Florida Top 100 and the national Nifty 150 lists by Max Emfinger…named to Florida Times Union Super 75…also a member of the Atlanta Constitutions' Super Southern 100…could play either guard or center for the Seminoles…graded out at over 90% last season…runs a reported 4.8 40-yard dash and bench presses 405 pounds…has a 32" vertical leap…selected Florida State over Ohio State, Tennessee and Georgia…first-team all-state as a senior.

Named Mr. Football for the state of Florida and has a chance to be Mr. Basketball as well…Gatorade Florida Player of the Year…first team class 4A all-state…passed for 3,727 yards on 217 of 355 (61 pct) passing with 42 TD's and rushed for 765 yards and eight rushing TD's as a senior…passed for 75 TD's and 6,161 yards over the past two seasons…selected to play in the CaliFlorida Bowl in Santa Barbara, CA…Max Emfinger named him one of their Super 25 and also to their Nifty 150 national list…Border Wars selected him to their Top 100 team…made Florida Times Union Super 75 and Atlanta Constitution Super Southern 100…selected to Gainesville Sun Top 10 list… averaged 35 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists a game including games of 59, 56, 52, 49 and 46 points in basketball during his junior year…broke his single-game scoring record in basketball with 59 points vs. East Bay…played outfield for his American Legion baseball team that won a state championship last summer…hails from the same high school as former FSU star Peter Warrick and current Seminole Todd Williams…chose FSU over North Carolina.

Graduated early from Miami Lakes and enrolled at Florida State in January…can participate in spring drills…named second-team all-state as a senior …Max Emfinger listed him on both his national Nifty 150 and state of Florida Top 100…selected by Florida Times Union to their Super 75 team…made 133 tackles as a junior…has a 35" vertical leap…clocked at 4.47 in the 40…selected FSU over a number of other schools, including Miami, Nebraska and Penn State.

Willie Reid
5-10, 175, Running back
Warner Robins, GA (Warner Robins)
Voted the state's Offensive Player of the Year…clocked at a 4.50 40-yard dash time…selected FSU over Georgia and Florida…ran for 5,346 yards and scored 65 touchdowns in his career at Warner Robins high school…named to Orlando Sentinel All-Southern team…BorderWars Top 100 selection…had 1,864 rushing yards in his senior year and rushed for over 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns in his junior year…Reid is also a standout punt returner…bench presses 250 and has a 35" vertical leap.

Dominic Robinson
6-1, 192, Defensive Back
Diamond Bar, CA (Diamond Bar) One of the best cover corner prospects in the nation…this season he picked off 10 passes, broke up 20 others and recorded 93 tackles…played both free safety and cornerback during the season…named MVP of national all-star game played in December in Dallas, TX…Rivals.com named him to it's 11 member defensive All-America team…made Reebok/ESPN first team All-America…ranked as the nation's second best prospect by SuperPrep…listed eight nationally by Rivals 100…selected by Max Emfinger to the Nifty 150…picked off eight passes, returning one of them back for a touchdown as a junior…..had three interceptions, including one for a touchdown, to help lead Diamond Bar to a California Interscholastic Federation Division II championship game victory as a sophomore…also caught 24 passes for 722 yards and nine touchdowns last season…chose Florida State over Tennessee and Washington.

Tomerlin is the only tight end among FSU's 2001 signing class…explosive player who has recorded 40 sacks over the past two years to go with 52 tackles for losses as a high school defensive end…very agile, he has played fullback, offensive tackle and tight end on offense…bench presses 345 pounds…collected 59 tackles, four sacks, nine tackles for loss and eight hurries in his senior year…Coach Eric Patton reports 40-yard dash speed to be 4.75…played in both the National All-Star game as well as the CaliFlorida Bowl…also played blocking back and tight end on offense in high school. Did not qualify.

Blake Williams
6-4, 270, Offensive Line
Kissimee, FL (Osceola)
Brother of FSU starting offensive tackle Brett Williams…will join one of the top offensive line classes in the country…selected FSU over Clemson, Florida and South Carolina…first-team Class A all-state offensive lineman as a senior…named to Max Emfinger's Top 100…timed at a 4.80 40-yard dash…missed much of his sophomore and junior seasons due to a knee injury and a ruptured appendix…will likely play offensive guard at FSU.
