Harold Battles DEFENSIVE BACK 6-1, 185, FRESHMAN JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (JACKSON HS)- Earned first-team All-America honors from Allen Wallace his senior season ... tabbed first team All-South by Southern Football Recruiting ... named to Lemming's all-Southeast team and Max Emfinger's national Top 100 list ... missed four games in his senior campaign due to an ankle injury, but still tallied 55 tackles and grabbed an interception ... as a junior, picked off eight passes ... named one of the top 20 high school players in the state by Super Prep Magazine.

Eric Black OUTSIDE LINEBACKER 6-5, 225, FRESHMAN JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (FLETCHER HS)- Named to the pre-season Dandy Dozen team by Bill Buchalter ... a talented two-way player at Fletcher High ... played mostly quarterback his senior year, but will move to defense at Florida State ... his size and athletic ability make him a versatile player ... change of positions makes him a good candidate to redshirt in his initial season ... one of two 1992 signees from Jacksonville.

Kamari Charlton TIGHT END 6-2, 220, FRESHMAN MELBOURNE, FLA. (FLORIDA AIR ACADEMY)- Second team all-state as a two-way player at Florida Air Academy ... as a senior, rushed for 3 75 yards and three touchdowns and gabbed 14 passes for 183 yards and three more TDs ... at linebacker, recorded 68 stops and four interceptions ... has an impressive 38 inch vertical leap ... a talented high jumper who has cleared 6-8 ... one of two Seminole signees who only played football for two years in high school ... originally from Nassau, Bahamas ... chose FSU over Florida and Georgia.

Henri Crockett INSIDE LINEBACKER 6-3, 236, FRESHMAN POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (ELY HS)- Named the South's number one prospect by both Forrest Davis and Southern Recruiting Magazine ... earned Parade All-America honors his senior season ... selected to first team All-America squads by Super Prep and Lemming ... made USA Today's second team squad ... also named a Super Senior by the Orlando Sentinel .. ran a 4.6 40 in high school ... one of the top high school linebackers in the country last year ... registered 165 tackles as a senior ... of those, 117 were solo stops ... pestered opposing quarterbacks with six sacks ... finished his high school career with 392 tackles ... played in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game... committed to FSU after his brother, Zack, signed ... chose FSU over Miami, Florida and Oklahoma.

Zach Crockett FULLBACK 6-2, 222 JUNIOR POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (HINDS CC/ELY HS)- Gained a jump on other incoming players by participating in 1992 spring practice ... enrolled at FSU last spring ... scored two touchdowns in the Garnet & Gold Garne...a junior College All-American at Hinds Community College ... an all-region and all-state pick ... considered the number six JUCO player in the country by Allen Wallace ... named to Super Prep and Max Emfinger JUCO 100 teams ... in his second season at Hinds, racked up 967 yards and 11 touchdowns on 239 carries ... in two years there, accumulated 1,768 all-purpose yards and scored 18 touchdowns ... joins his younger brother, Henri, on the 1992 squad.

Andy Crowe CENTER/DEEP SNAPPER 6-41 250, FRESHMAN TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (FLORIDA HS)- A first team class 2A all-state selection at Florida High ... one of three players from Tallahassee to sign with Florida State in 1992 ... selected to the Tallahassee Democrat's all-Big Bend squad ... rated right behind Larry Fleming as the 105th best prospect in the Southeast by Lemming ... recruited as a center and long snapper ... could step right into the vacant deep snapper spot as a true freshman ... selected FSU over East Carolina, Rutgers and Maryland.

Terry Davis TIGHT END 6-31 230, FRESHMAN COLUMBUS, GA. (KENDRICK HS)- Chosen to the first team 3A all-state squad in Georgia...honored as a Lemming AR-American.. Super Prep rated him the seventh best tight end among 1991 seniors and the ninth best prospect in Georgia ... considered one of the top 10 tight ends in the country by Lemming ... Emfinger rated him the number six tight end nationally ... runs the 40 in 4.6 seconds.

Larry Fleming OFFENSIVE LINE 6-3, 250, FRESHMAN FT. WALTON BEACH, FLA. (FT. WALTON BEACH HS)- Garnered first team 4A all-state honors at Ft. Walton Beach High ... helped lead his team to the state championship and a perfect 14-0 record in 1991 ... tabbed a Super Senior by the Orlando Sentinel ... rated the 104th best prospect in the Southeast ... considered one of the top prep offensive guards in the country ... earned honorable mention status on Komins' all-East team ... selected FSU over Florida.

Todd Fordham OFFENSIVE LINE 6-6, 245, FRESHMAN TIFTON, GA. (TIFT COUNTY HS)- Two-way player who earned honors on both sides of the ball ... a first team 4A all-state selection as a defensive end ... tabbed one of the top 12 offensive linemen in Georgia by the Atlanta Constitution ... also played tight end at Tift County High ... at 6-6, the tallest of the four offensive linemen signed by Florida State last year ... graduated from the same high school as Seminole center Clay Shiver ... chose FSU over Florida, Georgia, Auburn and Georgia Tech.

Mike Gibson RUNNING BACK 6-0, 212, FRESHMAN TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (NORTH FLORIDA CHRISTIAN HS)- A two-time Class A all-state selection at North Florida Christian ... earned All-America status from both Lemming and Wallace.. Super Prep rated him the number 14 prospect in the state ... averaged an impressive 10.2 yards per carry his senior year ... recorded his third 1,000-yard season in a row ... carried the ball 126 times for 1,292 yards as a senior ... found the end zone 10 times rushing and twice receiving ... pulled down 16 passes for 180 yards ... has 4.5 speed in the 40 ... from the same high school that produced 1991 Heisman runner-up Casey Weldon and current FSU wide receiver Aaron Dely.

Sean Hamlet DEFENSIVE BACK 6-2, 185, FRESHMAN HAMPTON, VA. (HAMPTON HS)- A Super Prep and Lemming All-American defensive back ... earned first team Big East/ACC status by Komins ... a member of the all-district and all-state teams following his junior and senior years ... included on Emfinger's top 100 high school seniors list...rated one of the top 10 prospects in Virginia by Super Prep as good speed, with a 40 time of 4.45 seconds... picked off 16 passes over his final two years ... rated the top defensive back in Virgina.

Michael Hendricks TIGHT END 6-5, 230, FRESHMAN BAYTOWN, TEXAS (STERLING HS)- A two-time all-state selection in the largest high school classification in Texas.. Super Prep called him the 27th-best prospect in the state...his junior and senior years, pulled in 36 passes for 655 yards ... averaged 18.1 yards a catch and scored nine touchdowns those seasons...one of the top five tight ends in the country ... football talent runs in his family ... father was a Parade All-American out of high school while his uncle was an all-SEC lineman at Vanderbilt last year.

Alonzo Horner INSIDE LINEBACKER 6-3, 235 JUNIOR MIAMI, FLA. (NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI JC/PALMETTO HS)- Joined the Seminole team in time for spring practice along fellow signee Zack Crockett ... competed for inside linebacker spot in spring drills...made six stops from his linebacker position in the Garnet and Gold Game ... two of his tackles were solos ... earned first team All-America honors at Northwest Mississippi junior College.. Super Prep tabbed him one of the top 100 JUCO players in 1991 ... pegged by Allen Wallace as the 16th best prospect in the nation ... in two years at NMJC, tallied 110 tackles and intercepted seven passes ... broke through to sack opposing quarterbacks five times his final season ... chose FSU over Alabama, Houston and Fresno State.

Danny Kanell QUARTERBACK 6-4, 205, FRESHMAN FT. LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WESTMINSTER ACADEMY)- Highly-touted quarterback who was the only unanimous selection to the St. Petersburg Times list of "can't miss prospects"...a first team All-American by Parade Magazine and Lemming ... USA Today put him on its second team All-America squad ... named the number one signal-caller in the nation by Alex Komins.. Super Prep called him one of the top two prep quarterbacks in the country ... a member of Forrest Davis' all-South squad...selected to the Orlando Sentinel's Super 24 team and the all-state squad ...receipient of the 1991 Gatorade Circle of Champions Player of the Year Award ... played only two years of football in high school ... led his team to the state title his junior year and a runner-up finish his senior season ... threw for 1,528 yards and 18 touchdowns in 1991 ... invited to play in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game ... a talented baseball player who was chosen in the 19th round of the 1992 draft by the Milwaukee Brewers ... selected FSU over Miami, Florida, Washington and Michigan.

Sean Liss PUNTER/KICKER 6-4, 205, FRESHMAN ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. (BOCA CIEGA HS)- One of the top three kickers in the nation according to Super Prep and Lemming ... first team 4A all-state at Boca Ciega High ... a second team All-America selection by USA Today ... named to the Orlando Sentinel's Super 24 squad ... played in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game ... punted six times and averaged 42.2 yards per kick in that game ... had a long punt of 54 yards ... also perfect on extra point kicks and booted a 27-yard field goal to put Florida ahead to stay ... during his senior year averaged 46.4 yards per punt ... connected on six-of-nine field goal attempts, including one from 49 yards out ... kicked field goals of 52 and 55 yards that were called back due to penalties ... chose FSU over Syracuse, Ohio State and Penn State.

Marcus Long OFFENSIVE LINE 6-4, 285, FRESHMAN DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (MAINLAND HS)- Earned USA Today and Lemming All-America honors during his senior season ... chosen to the Orlando Sentinel Super 24 squad ... garnered first team all-South honors from Southern Foothall Recruiting .. considered one of the top offensive linemen in the nation ... named to the all-Big East/ACC first team offense ... rated the 41st best player in the state by Super Prep Magazine ... runs the 40 in a speedy 4.9 seconds, an impressive time for an offensive lineman ... selected FSU over Clemson.

Wayne Messam WIDE RECEIVER 6-4, 192, FRESHMAN BELLE GLADE, FLA. (CENTRAL HS)- A first team 3A all-state selection as a senior at Belle Glade Central High ... second team choice on Forrest Davis' all-South squad ... a two-way player in high school ... rated the loth best safety in the country by Max Emfinger ... included on Emfinger's top 100 high school seniors list ... as a senior, caught 21 passes for 400 yards in a run-oriented offense ... 11 catches went for touchdowns ... high school scholar who was a member of the National Honor Society ... elected student body president his senior year ... chose FSU over Boston College and Louisville.

Todd Rebol INSIDE LINEBACKER 6-1, 210, FRESHMAN PUNTA GORDA, FLA. (CHARLOTTE HS)- Rated the number one student-athlete in the nation by Komins ... garnered Blue Chip Magazine and Super Prep All-America honors ... a first team 4A all-state selection ... named to the Orlando Sentinel's Super Seniors team ... one of Max Emfinger's top 100 high school seniors ... his final season, recorded 108 tackles, 75 unassisted ... dominated around the ball with six sacks, two fumble recoveries and two caused fumbles ... an exceptional student who carried a 3.97 grade point average through high school ... scored an impressive 24 on the ACT ... played in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game where he registered one tackle and broke up a pass ... selected FSU over Miami, Florida, Rice, Duke, and Clemson.

Kelly Rush DEFENSIVE END 6-6, 255, JUNIOR McKEESPORT, PA. (GARDEN CITY CC/ ELIZABETH FORWARD HS)- Super Prep's number one JUCO play year in the nation following the 1990 season ... originally signed with the 1991 class but spent last year at Tallahassee Community College getting his academics in order ... enrolled at FSU in January and joined the team for spring drills ... initially looked rusty after layoff ... credited with four tackles and breaking up a pass during Garnet & Gold Game ... listed behind Dan Footman at left end entering the fall ... first team selection to Max Emfinger's all-junior college squad ... named the nation's best junior college defensive lineman by Allen Wallace ... widely considered the top junior college defensive prospect in the country ... recorded 111 total tackles in 1990 ... registered 15 quarterback sacks and 17 tackles for loss ... selected FSU over Georgia and Kentucky.

Travis Sherman INSIDE LINEBACKER 6-2, 223, FRESHMAN VALRICO, FLA. (LEON HS)- Teamed with classmate Danny Kanell to give FSU one of the top combinations of offensive signees in the nation in 1992 ... the most highly-touted player from the Big Bend in several years ... one of the country's top athletes ... named to All-America teams by Parade, USA Today and Super Prep ... Forrest Davis picked him as an all-South player and considered him the finest prep receiver in the country ... named the 1992 Big East/ACC Football Athlete of the Year by Alex Komins ...a member of the Tallahassee Democrat's all-Big Bend squad and the Orlando Sentinel's Super 24 team ... a versatile player who filled many roles for Leon ... as a junior, grabbed 35 passes for 655 yards ... last season, averaged 6.4 yards rushing on 204 carries for 1,301 yards and 13 touchdowns ... finished his career at Leon with 3,946 all-purpose yards and 45 touchdowns ... also a talented defensive back who totalled eight career interceptions and returned two for touchdowns ... selected FSU over Miami, Florida and Texas.
