Fulton back with ASU
Josh Fulton recommitted to Arizona State Sunday after the Sun Devils' one day camp.Phoenix (Ariz.) St. Mary's tight end
Fulton originally committed to the Arizona State at its Junior Day in April only to reopen his recruitment several weeks later due to an expressed desire to earn additional scholarship offers.
"I committed today after the camp," Fulton said. "My parents and I met with Coach (Dennis) Erickson after camp was over. I told him that I wanted to recommit to ASU. I felt that was the right thing for me to do. He was very excited about it."
After reopening his recruitment Fulton received offers from several programs across the region including Boise State, Cal, Colorado and Washington. Stanford and USC were also reportedly very interested.
Fulton was at Arizona State two weeks ago for the Sun Devils' Passing League and Big Man Competition. He said that being on campus and around the staff lately is what helped him decide.
"Being around the program and the coaches is what helped me decide," Fulton said. "I can see what kind of program they are trying to build here and how they are really recruiting the in-state recruits. Coach Erickson is building a real nice program.
"I am done visiting other programs," Fulton said. "I won't be visiting any other programs this fall. I will be working on developing my skills. It is a relief to be recommitted and I can focus on improving myself and not contacting all these different coaches."
The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder, who also plays basketball for the state champion Knights, was a two-way first-team all-region performer last season. On offense, Fulton caught 26 passes for 304 yards and six touchdowns from his tight-end position. As a defensive end Fulton had 27 tackles and ten sacks.
