Franklin breaks down top quarterbacks

First year Middle Tennessee offensive coordinator Tony Franklin has had all offseason and spring practice to review film and work with returning signal callers Dwight Dasher and Brent Burnette.

With fall camp kicking off on Monday, the final countdown to the season opener officially began.

Franklin touched on both quarterbacks before hitting the practice field.

Height: 5-10
Weight: 202
Class: Junior
2008: 17-44, 156 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT - 49 rushes for 192 yards
Spring practice: Earned most improved award for quarterbacks; Won the Iron Man title for the skill position players.

Franklin: "Dwight runs around very well and is a good thrower. I think he is a pocket passer. He is a guy who can sit back in the pocket and find throwing lanes. He is that first. He is a runner second."

Class: Redshirt freshman
2008: Redshirted but traveled with team to all games
Spring practice: Earned the most improved strength training award for quarterbacks

Franklin: "Brent is a very capable quarterback who knows how to win. That is the thing I like about him most. He was extremely well coached in high school and his fundamentals are almost impeccable."
