Three-star safety prospect Mekhi Williams was one of a handful of prospects from the 2027 recruiting class to make an official visit to Florida State on Saturday to watch the Seminoles third practice of the spring. Williams told the Osceola at the conclusion of his visit that he has committed to FSU head coach Mike Norvell before leaving campus.

"It went great, I just committed to Florida State," Williams told the Osceola as he exited the Moore Center.

"The coaches here are different, they show the love, they treat me like its home," explained Williams when asked why he made the decision so early in his recruiting process.

The Ruskin (Fla.) Lennard High product was offered by FSU in late January. He also holds offers from a list of schools that includes Colorado, FAU, FIU and Wake Forest among others. Williams is the second player to commit to Mike Norvell for the 2027 recruiting cycle. Cornerback prospect Jaylen Scott from Mobile (Ala.) Williamson High committed to FSU in early January.
