You never know what top prospect is going to pop in at Florida State these days. On Wednesday, talented four-star linebacker Phillip Webb became the latest big name to check out FSU practice and get a stronger feel for the 'Noles.
"I really enjoyed the visit a lot," Webb said. "I liked seeing all the facilities and seeing what the campus life was like. Plus building relationships with all the coaches. It really exceeded my expectations. I really liked it a lot. I would say it was the people here and the vibe I got here that exceeded things."
Webb, who is a standout for perennial Georgia powerhouse Buford High, said he enjoyed getting to spend time with linebackers coach Raymond Woodie and several other staff members.
"He's a really good coach," Webb said of Woodie. "He has a lot of energy, and I feel he really knows what he's talking about with the way he gets across the message. I felt pretty comfortable around him. I spent a good amount of time with Coach Woodie, Coach [Willie] Taggart, Coach [Joe] Bowen and Coach [Harlon] Barnett."
Although Florida State ran a base 4-3 defense last season, the Seminoles have been experimenting with a 3-4 look as well this spring. During Webb's visit on Wednesday, the Seminoles' coaches took some time to explain how he would fit into their schemes.
