Former Texas A&M quarterback Nick Starkel, who announced last month that he would look to transfer and finish out his career at another school, has set up an official visit with Florida State for late March.

Starkel confirmed to Warchant.com on Thursday that he will visit for the March 29 weekend. As a graduate transfer, he will be eligible to compete immediately at his next school.

Starkel started five games as a redshirt freshman with the Aggies in 2017 and set a school bowl record with 499 passing yards against Wake Forest that season. He completed 42 of 63 passes with four touchdowns in the game.

But in 2018, he would lose the starting job to Kellen Mond after former FSU coach Jimbo Fisher took over the program. Starkel appeared in just four games this past season, completing 15 of 22 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown.

Starkel also is expected to visit Arkansas officially and has previously mentioned Duke, Ohio State and Arizona as potential destinations.

FSU currently has only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster -- sophomore James Blackman and Louisville transfer Jordan Travis. The Seminoles are still awaiting word about whether Travis will be eligible in 2019 or have to sit out a year, per NCAA transfer rules.
