Nicknamed "Bar None", William Floyd had a very successful career at Florida
State. He was known, not only for his crushing blocks and bruising runs, but his enthusiasm, on-field intensity and work ethic. He probably earned the title as the 'Noles' All-Time Fullback with his performances during FSU's 1993 championship season. In the victory over Nebraska in the 1994 Orange Bowl Floyd scored a touchdown and was FSU's leading rusher going for 53 yards on seven carries. As a junior in 1993 he rushed for 321 yards and five touchdowns on 63 carries. As a sophomore he scored nine touchdowns.
Floyd also had a successful career in the NFL. He was a first round selection of the San Francisco 49ers in 1994. He overcome a career-threatening injury in 1996, when he suffered a complete dislocation of his right knee. However, his best performances were prior to that injury. In his first season he set an NFL record by becoming the only rookie to score three touchdowns in a playoff game, recording two rushing and one receiving touchdown versus Chicago. He also recorded a receiving touchdown from Steve Young in the 1995 Super Bowl.
