The new Florida State offensive coordinator has been hired.

According to Yahoo! Sports and Fox Sports, Willie Taggart has tabbed Maryland's Walt Bell to be the latest member of the Seminoles' coaching staff.

Bell, a 2005 graduate of Middle Tennessee State, was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Maryland for the last two seasons.

Despite dealing with a rash of injuries, the Terrapins had some impressive moments in 2017 - including putting up 51 in a season-opening win at Texas.

In his first year at Maryland, his offense posted 173 points in its first four games and finished with 2,594 rushing yards - the first time in 13 years a Maryland offense had posted more than 2,500 yards rushing.

Bell's previous stops include Southern Miss (receivers coach), North Carolina (tight ends coach) and Arkansas State - where he was the offensive coordinator in 2014 and 2015. During his stint there his offense broke five school records. In his first year there the Arkansas State offense scored 65 touchdowns and averaged almost 480 yards per game.

In his last year there it was 12th in the county in scoring at 40 points per game. And in his 26 games total leading the Arkansas State offense it amassed over 500 yards 11 different times.

According to a story in Sports Illustrated in December of 2015, Bell actually turned down an offer to be the head coach at Louisiana-Monroe. At 31, he would've been the youngest head coach in the FBS had he accepted. Instead, a few weeks later, he was hired as the offensive coordinator at Maryland.

Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman also reported on Tuesday night that David Kelly will be the Seminoles' receivers coach. Kelly, who came to FSU from Oregon with Taggart, was originally expected to be in charge of player personnel for the Seminoles. But he does have extensive coaching experience.
