Breaking down FSU's Recruiting Hot Board -- Defense (Updated on 2/1)
After a hectic two-week stretch that included the early signing period, the Independence Bowl and the holidays, new Florida State head coach Willie Taggart now is working on putting together the rest of his 2018 signing class.
This will be a fluid situation given the fact that Taggart doesn't have his defensive coaching staff in place yet, but here is a look at the top targets we know of on the Seminoles' board. We'll start with the defense today and then post the offense on Wednesday.

The Skinny on DT Dennis Briggs & FSU

Briggs went back and forth with Miami and FSU for a while. But the Noles were the team that was in his heart and he committed to FSU after taking an official visit there. Willie Taggart visited Briggs earlier this week. FSU plans to use him as a big defensive end and also some at defensive tackle. Basically some of the same ways they did with Demarcus Walker.
