It usually takes an East Coast school like Florida State months and months of dedication to build a strong enough relationship to pull an elite prospect out of California.
This time, Willie Taggart and the Seminoles needed just about a week, as five-star defensive back Jaiden Woodbey announced Wednesday he will be a Seminole.
After a whirlwind courtship that started when Woodbey complained last week on Twitter that Florida State was a "dream school" for him but had never offered him a scholarship, Woodbey just might become the crown jewel of the Seminoles' early signing period.
Woodbey, who originally was committed to Ohio State, started talking to Taggart last Tuesday and received an offer, then visited Tallahassee this past weekend. He is rated the nation's No. 2 safety and the No. 26 prospect at any position.
