Having already been to see Florida State several times, there was no secret about why Rivals250 offensive lineman Joshua Braun wanted to stop by and see the Seminoles this weekend.

He wanted to get an up-close look at new offensive line coach Randy Clements and get a feel for Clements' style of teaching.

And from the sounds of it, the four-star prospect came away impressed.

"It went really well," Braun said. "I enjoyed the visit a lot. The first impression was very good. I enjoyed his coaching style and how direct he is with everything. Liked his personality, not laid back, but also not overly aggressive. He seemed to give off a mentorship role, and I appreciated that in regards to his personality."

Clements has produced very successful offensive lines at Baylor and Houston, and really everywhere he has been. And Braun said he could see why as he watched Friday's practice.

"I saw a lot of development," he said. "They are installing some new things, and it jumps out at you. New coaching changes can be rough on everyone. However, to see how the players are already adapting was very impressive."

While this was Braun's first opportunity to see Clements coach in person, this wasn't the beginning of their relationship. They have talked on the phone many times.

"He's very straightforward," Braun said. "He never leads me on, and the truth, it's beneficial to me. I like things directly and want to be coached that way. Coach Clements does that, and now I just want to build on that relationship."
