Davis selects Seminoles, finally

Daytona Beach Mainland linebacker Buster Davis was in no hurry to choose a college. He finally did so on Monday, Feb. 18, picking Florida State over Nebraska 12 days after National Signing Day.
(Davis' signed letter of intent is not expected to arrive at FSU until Wednesday, Feb. 20.)

Davis (5-11, 230) visited Ohio State, Tennessee and Syracuse in addition to the 'Noles and Huskers. He made numerous All-America lists, including USA Today's first team, following a senior season in which he had 140 tackles, six sacks and six caused fumbles. Davis was listed as the nation's No. 13 linebacker prospect by SuperPrep and the No. 5 inside linebacker by Rivals100.com.
Davis has qualified academically.
The Seminoles landed three linebackers on signing day: Nate Hardage (Jones J.C., Miss.), A.J. Nicholson (Winston-Salem, N.C., Mount Tabor) and Sam McGrew (Crawfordville Wakulla). Hardage is enrolled for the spring semester and will be a junior next fall.
Davis' signing will give FSU 22 recruits in all, including 11 on each side of the ball.
