Whenever the Florida State men's basketball team has gone on a streak this season, it's been followed with some sense of perspective.
Going 5-1 in six straight games against ranked opponents reinforced the idea the No. 15 Seminoles (19-4, 7-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) have the makings of being a legitimate NCAA Tournament threat.
Then the Seminoles dropped two straight road games before closing out their three-game trip with a win last Wednesday at in-state rival Miami. For Leonard Hamilton and his players, the last three games were a reminder of how there's still room to improve.
"I think we kind of lost our identity for a couple of games. We had to get back to being who we are," FSU coach Leonard Hamilton said. "Executing all those little things that is necessary for you to win. Defensively, the energy we play with. The position that our feet are in. Being on the line contesting shots.
"Playing to each other and understanding our defense is going to be successful as all the guys understand how to stay connected."

Hamilton has evidence of what happens when his team is on the same page.
FSU's 14 home victories this season is three more than it had a year ago at the Tucker Center. A year go, this was a team which finished with 20 wins with eight of them coming in conference play.
A win at 12:30 p.m. Sunday against the Tigers (13-8, 3-6) would give the Seminoles 20 wins and eight ACC victories with a month left in the regular season.
