Fields throws for Jimbo Fisher, gets a look at FSU

It's certainly been a busy week for five-star quarterback Justin Fields, who took visits to Georgia and Auburn this week before participating in the Jimbo Fisher camp at Florida State on Wednesday.

Fields, who arrived in Tallahassee on Tuesday, said he was heading home to Kennesaw, Ga., later Wednesday after one last meeting with the Seminoles' coaches. He said he wanted to stay longer but had to get back to join his high school teammates for a team camp.

Still, Fields got to see plenty of Florida State's program this time around. He got a very detailed tour of the campus, and he also enjoyed a lengthy conversation with head coach Jimbo Fisher. Fields also met some of the players, and he capped things off by working out for FSU's coaches in camp Wednesday afternoon.

After wrapping up that session, Fields shared a few highlights from his time at Florida State.

"I learned about how close this team was in being around everyone," Fields said. "It was a good feeling. I told Amari (Gainer) to come drive up and meet me here. He's a great guy. We really didn't get to spend as much time as I thought we would. It was great, though, being with him."

Fields also discussed what it was like working with Fisher and FSU quarterbacks coach Randy Sanders.

"We met earlier today, and the message was how he can develop me, like I've said before," Fields said of Fisher. "He worked with me on keeping my front shoulder closed and keep a tight impact when I throw. It wasn't too intense. It was just about making the throws. Coach Sanders is all about details. I liked it."

Although he was only able to stay for one session of the camp, Fields said he could already get a feel for how much Fisher could help him with his game.

"He really knows what he's talking about," the nation's No. 1 dual-threat quarterback said. "Right when he told me an adjustment on my throws, it immediately made the pass better, nearly every time. That's the thing I got out of working with him."
