Five-star wide receiver Ermon Lane did the expected today and signed with Florida State. It's been rumored for awhile, even before his decommitment from Florida in December, that Tallahassee was his college destination.
Just a few days ago, the nation's No. 5 rated receiver made an official visit to FSU and raved about his weekend in Tallahassee.
"I would give the visit a 9 out of 10. I felt comfortable with everyone. I noticed a lot during the weekend that where you see one of them, there's going to be 20 other teammates," Lane told Warchant.com shortly after his visit concluded. "They stick together all the time. One of the biggest highlights was the celebration. It was crazy seeing the fans on the field, it was loud and you could barely hear."
What were some of the factors he considered when making his decision?
"The main factors are if I feel home, feel comfortable with the team, coaches that I can trust when I'm away from home. The offense matters some. Not really a passing offense, but just one that I know they can run and throw the football," he told Warchant.com last Sunday.
Although he claims it was not a deciding factor, close friend Dalvin Cook, a five-star running back, enrolled at FSU in January.
"Dalvin tells me how much he likes it there," he said, "but didn't pressure me about FSU.
Lane picked FSU over Miami and Florida. He is the No. 5 ranked player in the state and the No. 44 overall prospect in the country.
