Florida State lands four-star OL Richy Klepal

Despite 17 other scholarship offers, when Plant (Tampa, Fla.) offensive tackle Richy Klepal landed on offer from Florida State in April, he had the one he really wanted.
And while Klepal kept his options open for the past two months, he finally was able to reveal his college destination during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. He began the press conference wearing a gray Plant polo shirt. He thanked his coaches, family and supporters. Then, told the audience he was headed to FSU. He took off his shirt to reveal a FSU polo shirt and put on a FSU cap.

"I think I always knew FSU was the place for me once I visited and got the offer. I visited other places to make sure," Klepal told Warchant.com. Klepal is the No. 27 ranked offensive tackle in the nation according to Rivals.com. "I went to Georgia, which was a great visit and then Miami, which had a great staff. But from the very start, FSU always stuck out to me and that's where I'm headed."
A lot of factors contributed to Klepal's final destination. A big part of his decision was the comfort he felt with the staff, especially with his future position coach Rick Trickett.
"I felt so comfortable at Florida State. It was the place for me as a student and player. It was a combination of a lot of things," Klepal explained. "They have great coaching with Coach Trickett. His style fits me well. He and I are similar in how we think and what is expected. I just immediately felt like part of a family."
Klepal also liked the level of talent already in place at FSU and said a having familiar face around in former Plant High standout James Wilder Jr. also contributed.
"Just seeing how close they are of being a strong contender for a national championship is exciting," Klepal said. "I'm very excited to join him and be his blocker again. I just can't wait to get there."
Klepal becomes Florida State's eighteenth commitment for the 2013 class and the fourth offensive lineman.
