Four-star WR Louis flips from Auburn to FSU

Last weekend, Miami Beach, Fla. wide receiver Ricardo Louis took a surprise official visit to Florida State despite being committed to the Auburn Tigers. Today, Louis announced he decommitted from Auburn and is now committed Florida State. Warchant.com spoke with Louis shortly after he let the Seminole coaches know about switch.

"Yes sir, I have decommitted from Auburn and committed to Florida State this morning. I called FSU assistant coach Dameyune Craig (Friday) morning," said Louis.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete stated that FSU likes him as a receiver and he feels he can add to what is already a very impressive young unit of playmakers.

"FSU likes to spread the ball around a lot so that is what I liked a lot," he said. "They also give all their receivers a chance to play or make plays, so that's one of the main reasons I picked them. FSU also never stopped recruiting me even when I was committed to Auburn. So I knew how much they wanted me."

Louis said that he wants to be the first Florida State Seminole to win the Fred Biletnikoff Award because no FSU player has won that and he wants to be the first. It has even more meaning to him because Biletnikoff was the first consensus All-American to play for Florida State.

So what will Louis bring to the FSU offense?

"FSU already has a lot of big time receivers, so I think I add onto that and plan on helping them try and win a National Championship," he said.

A big part of his decision when he said down with his family is the feeling he had while on campus as well as the relationship he built with FSU assistant coach Dameyune Craig, his main recruiter.

"Coach Craig was always the main one that stayed in touch with me through my high school coach even when I committed to Auburn as I said before," he said. "I liked how straight forward he was about FSU. After I sat down with my family and discussed my decision, we all thought FSU was the best choice for me, plus I could stay close to home."
